Sheri L. Freeman

SHERI L. FREEMAN joined Mahoney, Silverman & Cross, LLC in 2007. Her legal practice focuses on local government law, particularly in the representation of municipalities, townships and special districts, as well as zoning and land development law. Sheri was born in 1974. She attended Eckerd College, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997. Sheri attended Stetson University College of Law and graduated Cum Laude in 2001 with joint J.D. and M.B.A. degrees. She was admitted to practice law in Florida in 2001. Upon admission Sheri was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Pinellas County, Florida and thereafter was in private practice. In 2006, Sheri moved to Illinois to be close to her family, who reside in the Chicagoland area. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November of 2006. Sheri is a member of the Will County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, in which she serves as a member of the Local Government Law Section Council, the Florida Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court in the Middle District of Florida. Sheri is an active member of the Illinois Municipal League Committee of Home Rule Attorneys, the Will County Government League, the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and the Joliet Chamber of Commerce’s Council for Working Women. Sheri is a Board member of CASA of Will County (Court Appointed Special Advocates).  She also volunteers as a CASA Advocate for a child who lives in Will County.  In addition, she is on the CASA “Thunder in July Poker Run” event committee, the March of Dimes “A Night on the Town” event committee, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will, Kankakee and Grundy Counties “Draw Down Raffle-Cash Bash” event committee, and a member of the Council for Working Women’s Scholarship Committee.
